Our Mulberry Commercial Team Scoops the IAS Best Overall Logistics Park Scheme Award

Our Commercial Developments team is celebrating today after winning Best Overall Scheme in the Logistics Park category at the Industrial Agents Society (IAS) Awards 2019, alongside our partners Frogmore.

The team took the award for our commercial development of Midlands Business Park (MLP) in Corby, Northamptonshire, where Eddie Stobart has recently taken a 20-year lease on an 844,000ft² unit.

The Logistics Park category was sponsored by CBRE, whose Executive Director Paul Farrow presented the award to our Development Director Phil Jones and Frogmore’s Director of Asset Management, Tim Allibone, during a 550-strong ceremony at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square in London’s Mayfair.

The judges’ report stated that “the winning park delivered on all fronts. The early delivery of infrastructure and subsequent pre-letting of a number of big box units marked this entry as the winner.”

MLP is a 250,000-acre storage and distribution site providing 2.5 million ft² of logistics warehouse space. It is one of only a handful of sites in the region that has the scale to accommodate units of such magnitude. Additionally, MLP is situated on the dualled A43 link road that connects to the A14 – an ideal point from which the UK’s major transport networks can be reached.

Phil Jones said: “We are delighted to have received the accolade for Best Overall Scheme in the Logistics Park category, after Midlands Logistics Park also earned us Deal of the Year at last year’s IAS Awards. Our team has continued the fantastic work they began in 2016 – we couldn’t be prouder of their achievements.

“MLP is the result of significant investment in and commitment to infrastructure, in order to secure high-profile occupiers such as Eddie Stobart and to put the strategically-located town of Corby on the logistics map.

“We take pride in providing innovative solutions via the development process and creating environments in which businesses can grow and prosper.”

MLP has been designed with sustainability in mind. Buildings have achieved a Very Good Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) rating as well as an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of A. 10% of the construction materials are from recycled sources, whilst 95% of construction waste is recycled.

Additionally, we have retained and enhanced an area of woodland on site that is home to a variety of wildlife, including the protected Great Crested Newt.

240,000ft² of units are still available at MLP via Agents M1 Agency and Burbage Realty. To find out more, please visit mlp.co.uk
