Fowlmere, Cambridgeshire
The Fowlmere Masterplan
The proposed site sits on the far eastern edge of the settlement of Fowlmere, and forms a well contained parcel of land, which we believe to be suitable for development.
The site has strong levels of existing landscape planting on all boundaries; therefore, our layout has considered opportunities and constraints to provide a sensitive, small scale residential scheme.
The residential development will deliver just 9 self and custom build private dwellings in an attractive and well screened environment.
The substantial plots are well spaced out to ensure a low-density approach is taken, including good sized gardens and parking arrangements.
The development is well contained but allows for a footpath connection for residents to access the facilities at Fowlmere and public transport connections wider afield.
Although the site is greenfield in nature, it is located outside of the green belt, and is contained by existing dwellings on the southern side of Thriplow Road, with Fowlmere Road to the east forming the limit of development to the settlement of Fowlmere.
The proposals for the site currently include:
Just 9 self and custom build detached homes
Dwellings set in a high-quality environment, with extensive levels of existing and proposed landscaping
Well connected for pedestrian access into the village and the neighbouring village of Thriplow, and access to bus routes
Low density and attractive enclave of development, complimentary and respective to the settlement of Fowlmere
Ideal for commuting into Cambridge and beyond, via the A10 and M11
Addresses a district wide need for self and custom build housing, in response to the Council’s self and custom build register
